Definition of Aggressive Behavior: An aggressive dog is one who, on WBC premises, makes – or repeatedly attempts to make – negative physical contact with any person or any animal. “Negative physical contact” is that which is potentially harmful or dangerous to persons or pets. Actual physical contact is not necessary to constitute aggressive behavior. Any person who believes he or she experienced or witnessed an act of dog aggression may fill out a Written Report, which must be sent to windermerebeachclub@gmail.com.
The Written Report must state all relevant circumstances of the incident, including names, witnesses (if any), and details of the aggressive behavior.
Any dog that exhibits an act of aggression is to be immediately taken from the Park.
After the first incident of aggressive behavior reported to the Board, the dog that exhibited aggressive behavior shall only be allowed inside the Park on a leash and only at times where no other dogs or people are present. After two or more incidents of aggressive behavior, the dog is prohibited from entering the Park.
The President, on behalf of the Board, or another delegate from the Board, will formally write to or call the dog owner. The communication will inform the owner of the Board’s decision regarding the incident(s) and will inform the owner of the Written Report.
The owner may request a review by the Board of action taken following any changes in the dog’s circumstances: ï Neutering ï Private Training ï Environmental Circumstances Changed ï Other Extenuating Circumstances. The Board will accept written requests for review after 4 months.
This policy shall be effective immediately and Written Reports for any past acts of aggressive dog behavior will be accepted and shall fall under the directive of this policy.
