Welcome to Windermere
Windermere was established in 1910 as a residential neighborhood in Seattle. Named after Windermere in England's Lake District, our neighborhood is beautifully situated on the western side of Lake Washington, the largest freshwater lake in the state.
As a dues paying Windermere resident, you have exclusive access to our Windermere Park & Beach Club which includes a large play field, tennis courts, children's playground, kayak and canoe storage, and boat dock. This private park offers opportunities for everything from a quiet walk to hosting a large party. Dues paying members also have access to the full website, including the ability to request Home Checks, Party Permits, online tennis court reservations, and much more.
To the north is Warren G. Magnuson Park, the second largest park in Seattle, with 350 acres of land offering additional opportunities for boating, swimming, and kite flying. The main road, Sand Point Way NE, provides access in minutes to the University of Washington, Seattle Children's Hospital and the open-air shopping center University Village.
Windermere Corporation is the community organization for our neighborhood. It provides year round security, lifeguards at the beach during the summer months, and maintains our neighborhood common areas. Funds to support and maintain these services are obtained through membership fees. Upon joining there is an initial fee which includes the one time initiation fee plus the annual membership fee. Membership is restricted to home owners in Windermere.
As of June 7th, the majority of our website will be accessible only to dues-paying members. If you have paid your 2024 dues, you should have received an automated email with a link to create a log-in. The Security Incident Report Form, Design/Land Use information, and other pages for the general community will still be accessible by all. If you have any questions, let us know.
